Oh I'm so sorry! He is really due for a lucky break about now!

Maybe the antibiotics, strong pain meds and IV fluids will boost him quick enough to be home for Christmas. They told him he's be there at least 48 hours so he'll be lucky to get home Christmas Eve. We'll keep plans fluid and ultimately flexible. I'm glad I've got all my preps done so we can change gears quickly if necessary.

I'm glad of that too. I know you will all enjoy the time as much as possible.

Do have travel plans? Or outside-of-the-norm plans during break?

No travel plans. We are having company for Chanukah a couple of the nights. Some projects at home. Some family outings - zoos, museums and such. Should be a fun time.

Thanks. I think so too. This would have maybe been the year we would have gone to the inlaws for Christmas - Ian is old enough and has expressed an interest. But they did their celebration early due to various schedules and we weren't on break yet. But maybe we'll go next year.

Thanks Ballerina!
Scheduling can get tricky with families. I think ours will get more complicated soon too. With DS1 and BD working late on Christmas Eve and her dad wanting to do the holiday as well (for the first time in years), they just can't make it everywhere.

Yes, it does get complicated. And no hard feelings here. They made plans before we even know if I had any time off at all. And I would never want them to plan around the one branch of the family that does not celebrate Christmas. That would make no sense.

I'm working really hard to keep my eyes open. Stress seems to exhaust me. I was hoping DH would be home soon.
