Hang in there, Bunsy. You've had so much going on I'm guessing you're pretty emotionally wiped out ...

Yup, we own ponyo. These are films done by Studio Gibli from Japan. Disney just bought the rights to sell them in the US. There are lots of films similar. Off the top of my head, Howl's Moving Castle, Kiki's delivery service, my neighbor Totoro, Nausica the valley of the wind, ponyo, porco Rosso, castle in the sky, grave of the fireflys, and more. There is one that Disney doesn't have rights to and that is Princess Mononoke.

Healer, are all of those movies good ones? Sometimes we'll do movie night with the kids and run out of rental ideas.

Grave of the fireflys is hard to watch. It is based off a journal found on the body of a young boy after the nukes were dropped on Japan.
Princess mononoke is very difficult to find and not child appropriate, it is a little violent.
The rest are good. Just look up films by Hayo Miazaki or Studio Gibli.

Princess Mononoke was released over 10 years ago under a different label, they only made a few dvd's then quit. There is a huge legal mess over it in the US right now. It probably will never get rereleased.
I am not sure much about Grave of the fireflys. I watched it once, and I don't really want to watch it again because of the subject matter. Like I said, it is tough to watch, good film though.

We do own almost every Miazaki film though. I believe we are missing 2 or 3 of them.

Amy, that is why I was very happy to spend my 2nd pregnancy at home. I think my hormones are worse around you know when though.
I should probably go for a bit. The baby is trying to sleep, and I need to go get some stuff done. The dishes aren't gonna wash themselves...sigh.

Hmm. Healer -- I visited the Holocaust Museum in Hiroshima when I was in Japan. Definitely changed my worldview -- and personally I think that every leader of every country who has nuclear weapons should be required to visit the museum. Very powerful, very sobering, very haunting.

Oh man how i wish i could spend this at home. Everyone gets on my nerves so easily. Luckily most of them know I'm pregnant so it's hopefully not too much of a surprise.

Yeah, grave of the fireflies was harsh. My grandparents were in German work camps in Poland during WWII. Learning about the stuff in Europe was bad, but watching Grave of the fireflies was worse. If anyone wants to see it, I own it .
