So I stubbed my baby toe on Wednesday night, and holy cow did it hurt!!! In fact, it's still extremely painful, to the point where I'm now walking with a limp, and it hurts when I try to wiggle or move it. Not sure if I broke it or not, and I know that there's nothing that can be done if it is broken; however, when I woke up this morning, my foot was swollen. My shoe feels significantly tighter than the other foot. If my toe was broken, is that a normal symptom? I'm considering going in just to get some pain meds lol!!

I have done the same thing to both my baby toes. Sounds broken. Hope it gets to feeling better soon!

I'd go in just to make sure you haven't broken something farther into your foot. I've broken toes twice and they were incredibly painful and I was amazing how one little toe could really make life difficult. Taping it to the one next to it can help get it to a comfortable position. So sorry you got hurt!

The second time I broke my toe, my father died the next day and I found myself hobbling through the airport. I could walk, but it was a slow process and I had it taped, but the tape would keep slipping and of course my gate was the VERY farthest at MSP. And I do remember saying to myself that one stupid little toe was making this whole thing so much harder.

Yup it's broken alright. I too would go in just in case it went up further into the foot.

Yikes! I have never broken a bone but I did seriously bruise my elbow once and it got SERIOUSLY swollen and I could have sworn I broke it because I couldn't move my arm at all. I did end up going to the ER because I was in so much pain. They took xrays but no break. They did tell me bruising your elbow can feel like it is broken and they gave me a splint and pain meds. Not sure how that would all work with your toes but if it is that swollen and your in that much pain you should go in and be seen.
Good luck and hope you feel better soon!

I'm thinking I severely bruised it! I've been able to wiggle it a little more and actually touch it now! It's still very painful, but not as intense, which is great. Walking still hurts too, but it's more manageable now. Thanks again for the well wishes

Is your foot still swollen? Or did that go down?

It went down a little, the same shoe isn't as tight as it was yesterday! Plus it doesn't help that I have to stand on my feet for my whole shift..

Did you have it looked at? I wonder if maybe you should if it stays swollen.

I did not have it looked at. Unfortunately I don't have insurance at the moment, so I don't want to go in unless absolutely necessary! I'm going to give it a couple more days and see what happens.
