There is a soldier that lives down the road from me. NO I don't know this person. I only found this out b/c there is A LOT of american flags in the ground in their yard & a welcome home sign on their garage. I was/am thinking of writing a note and to say thanks. Though they might think I am crazy if they see me put a note in their mailbox.
What would you do?
TIA

If I do this I am afraid I will get into trouble for putting something in their mailbox when I am not a mail person.

You could always put a stamp on it and mail it..

I could, but I don't know the name or the person(s) that live there nor do I remember the house # though I could look sometime when I drive by the place.

I would do it! You could also put it in between their front doors if you're worried about putting it in their mailbox.

I say "do it" too! I think that a lot of people mean to say "thank you" to soldiers but don't actually get around to doing it. I think it would be much appreciated by the recipient.

I would make cookies and put them in a plastic "throw away" type container with with a note. It's a nice neighborly thing to do, even if you don't know them.

Jodi, why don't you just stop by his/her house and talk.

I agree stop by and knock on the door. Your always saying you want more friends. Don't be shy or worrysome about simple things. Unless you open the mail in the box or vandalize, you can touch it.

You may be able to do a reverse address search to get their name... just drop it off tho... easier. A letter with some cookies or something

I'd probably get a card, bake some cookies or a loaf of bread or something, and drop it off in person. If they aren't home at the time then I'd leave it in the mailbox (you won't get in trouble, promise!)
