I found out the MN Dept of Education and the BBB won't help me. Us parents are basically on our own. I have decided it's time to get real. I have taken steps to try to get help and nothing is working. I am going to draft letters and send them out to all of the news stations then I am going to contact all our local senators as suggested by a co-worker of mine. Plus I am sending it viral. I am going to start a page of facebook and spread it along because I KNOW I am not the only parent having problems with this company or even others in MN and nothing is getting done about it.
Sue: I had actually found those links you posted before but they all talk about laws in the schools and don't say anything about the bus/drivers. That was also the point of the Dept of Education when I received a phone call back yesterday.

This is just insane, Mo. I can't believe that this man has a record and this many priors and the bus station hasn't let him go! I would be as outraged as you. Good luck ini this fight!

Hi Mo,
"Sue: I had actually found those links you posted before but they all talk about laws in the schools and don't say anything about the bus/drivers. That was also the point of the Dept of Education when I received a phone call back yesterday."
Gosh, Darn It! Would have thought the bus/drivers would be covered in the laws on schools, since they are like part of/extension of schools.
Star Tribune, Whistleblower; Investigative reporters of TV, Facebook, etc., Here she comes!!!! Opening up/Exposing the "can of worms".
I sure hope that they can get the word out and get something done to fix the situation for your ds and other bus riders!!!!

Thanks but I am feeling a little discouraged finally got an email back from the boss of the supervisor at the buss company and he is going on and on about the supervisor and how he had been there for 30+ years and has been essential in his job and has done great work blah blah blah but they will investigate. Sounds like they are buddies and he is just trying to say yeah we will look into it but he is a good guy and didn't do anything wrong so live with it!
God does anyone care that this bus driver was calling my son names? Then he didn't even get suspended but this idiot supervisor put him back in the bus with my kid and was only removed after I demanded they do so! Maybe I am fighting a losing battle here?

Nooooooo keep fighting! If nothing else you need this driver fired. Maybe then this supervisor will learn his lesson. What will stop this driver from doing it again to another child on another bus?

Lil - your right and I will follow through I just kinda already feel a little defeated.
Vicki - I did mention it on the Kare11 thing on Fb asking for news stories. I still want to get everything in one letter and send it out to all of them.
You would think so but so far I'm not having any luck with this. The lady from the MN Dept of Educ said that if it had been done in the school by a teacher then she could have helped me.

Do bus company have website or facebook page? Maybe complaining/ reporting it on school/ district website and suggesting they retain different company in near future?

If it is that bad maybe you should change your schedule or your dh's/so's schedule to drive your son(s) to school. Good luck MO. Keep fighting. Best wishes on a good outcome.

I got another email from some transportation division and that person was sounding like an ass too. Basically no laws were broken and children should remain in their seats (which I agree with but if the bus driver was ok'ing it what they hell did he think the kids would do) and keep calling the bus company with problems. I am so sick of this crap.
Also Jodi: No it is not possible for my husband and I to change our shifts at work. My DH doesn't have even close to a set schedule and can work as long as 6am to 10pm at night. I work until 5pm. It's not something where I can just say to my boss hey I need to leave at 4pm every day. Plus I shouldn't have to do that. These bus drivers should be trained well enough not to be having so many issues on the bus and an adult shouldn't under any circumstances be calling any of the children on the bus any names.

Mo - keep fighting this. It is completely wrong what happened to your DS and especially if this driver has been reported by other parents too.
I would send Cindy a PM and see if Kare 11 isn't interested in the story if she has ideas about another way to get this to the media.
Good luck!

Also try Whistleblower column in the Pioneer Press, I think-- Otherwise Star Tribune has it.

Is there some parent committee that you can bring this up to so that you can bring this concern to the other parents? If it's happening to your son, then it could be happening to others. Get enough pissed off parents and the school and the bus company will have to resolve it.
