I am constipated (I know TMI), but do you gals have ideas of how to get not constipated. I have tried prunes, a tiny bit of applesauce, oj. I am gassy, but nothing. Dh said to take a vigourous (sp) walk around the block. This happens often. I have benefiber chewables haven't tried those yet. Oh ya I have has oatmeal, granola in granola bars (homemade ones).

I know vegies, fruit help, but haven't tried them yet. My tummy has hurt for a couple days b/c of being constipated. Plus it feels hard to me.

DD has popcorn every couple days and that helps her chronic issues. Drink lots of water. Apple juice always helped my kids when they were young.

Drink lots of water!
Do you get enough magnesium? I take magnesium daily as it is the only thing that gets rid of my headaches and it helps with being more regular.
Also, yogurt helps too.

I've had this problem recently due to medication I was put on for morning sickness.
You need fiber. I prefer prune juice over prunes. and yes, LOTS of water. BUT steer clear of dairy, because it makes it worse.
A sure fire thing, that luckily I havent had to try, it miralax. it is avaliable OTC.
I know how uncomfortable you're feeling, I've been there!!

This happens to DH. He has to do a few days of Milk of Magnesia to get things to pass.

If you have this problem regularly I would start eating Activia yogurt. When I was having some issues it really helped me get back on track! I also have family members who swear by the benefiber and take it every day!

Lots and lots and lots of water...lemon water is good too. Taking a probiotic helps keeps things on track also.

Lots of water or give Miralax a try. Very mild and have to use on DD every once in a while.

What is your diet like? If it's mostly processed stuff, then no wonder you're blocked up. If you turn to real food in it's most natural form then you should be regular.
I find when I eat everything ready-made, from a box, I just don't go as much, but when I stick to one degree from the source, then I am regular. By one degree I mean you cooked it, it wasn't processed and filled with stuff that makes food cheap, but not really food.
Make sure you get enough water. Pop is not water, it will constipate you more. Juice can help, but don't overdo the juice.
It'll take time to get back to normal from filling your body with junk. If I have an unusually bad processed week, then it'll take me a week to undo what I did to my body.

Thanks girls. I will try the benefiber chewables. I went out to get apple juice. I rarely eat or make processed foods. I will look into the activia yogurt though I am not much of a fan of yogurt. I was drinking the oj w/ those tiny cans of ginger ale together. So yummy.

I have had 2 small bottles of apple juice and 1 lexan glass of water. Trying to be active in hopes this all will help. Next I will try the benefiber. Not sure why I haven't grabbed one yet to try.

If all else fails, try a stool softener.
