It is that giving time of year again...Well I am trying to come up w/ some ideas for teacher & bus driver ideas? I usually give holiday goodies I bake. B/c I bake lots at this time of the year. And goodness me I can't eat all of it. lol I am thinking would you something else too? If so what? I am thinking those coffee thermos mug things at JoAnn Fabrics that costs roughly 1.99. Or I was thinking lotion. What about bus drivers what would you suggest?
Thanks much.
I was going to do candy cane reindeers, but I am not sure yet even though I have almost all the things you need such as the candy canes, pipe cleaners, eyes.

I have done Caribou gift cards for a small amount for DD's teacher since teachers seem to get so many little things that something consumable seems like a good idea.

I was thinking of knitting a couple of angels, dd1 goes to Guardian Angels, little angels preschool. If it weren't a catholic school, i would probably make something different.

Jodi - Do you have Pinterest? There are SOOO many ideas out there. Cheap ones that you can make at home.

I agree with Deanne, and knowing several teachers, they like the gift cards in small dollar amouns best. They get SO much Christmas stuff over the years they can't possibly display it all. Something consumable works good or even for Barnes & Noble.

Along the same lines this is the first year DS has been at a center-type daycare. How do people handle when there are multiple teachers? (he has 2 FT teachers, but then one that just started that is there for a couple hours/day). I was thinking to get his 2FT teachers Caribou Gift Card or Barnes & Noble and some nice chocolate but don't know what to do about the new pt person. Thoughts?

I avoid lotions due to allergies and what if they don't like the scent you picked out?!?! I will post some neat ideas from pinterest I found later. Gift cards for coffee or Target are always good. I like the mug idea with a gift card.

I have brought in s plate, box, or container of something consumable for the daycare workers in the center in the past. Easy for them to share.

Of all the dumb things, our school really needs working pencil sharpeners. The one in the office stopped working, everyone's using the one in the media center and the one my children's teachers have are sub-par at best, And that's because I sharpen pencils often when I volunteer. They're all those electric ones so they're been used for years and just don't work well anymore.
They do sharpen hundreds of pencils a week!

When I tought nursery school, the most usable gift that I loved was a to go coffee mug with hershey kisses inside and a small gift card to dunkin donuts (starbucks/caribou would suffice lol)

I have honestly never heard or never remember seeing anyone ever giving any teacher gifts while in school until I moved up here and this subject gets brought up every year lol. I'm really not sure if we are going to be getting them anything this year.

No I don't have pinterest. I forgot I got the 2 teachers an ornament something teacher related, cute. I always love things I have seen what others have posted from pinterest. Maybe I should those fancy hot chocolates, candy, some of the baked goods I am making soon, something to put the hot chocolate in.

I like to do the jar brownies or cookies for them to make with their kids over break if they have kids. I also avoid ornaments or knick knacky stuff because I know how much of that stuff they get. I remember how much of that stuff I donated to the thrift stores since I didn't have the room to keep it all when I taught.
