What do you do with B-Day cards, Christmas, ect. that you receive. Do you recycle, save, or just toss.

Toss most of them. We save some of the B-day cards form 1st birthday and such.
I always tell my family to save the $3.00 and not buy me a card. I'd rather have a cup of coffee with the money

I usually put them in the recycling bin.
My grandma loves getting funny cards for her birthday so it is worth the $3. But often I just have DS draw a picture for people and make them a birthday card. If it is someone I am buying a gift for I don't usually do a card too, as Gwen said, they are so expensive.

Usually, I toss or recycle them. I have a friend that cuts the front part off, and uses the back as a card. She makes them all pretty too! I should do that sometime!
We keep special ones for us, and photo cards from Christmas, otherwise most we recycle or toss.

There's a handful that I have kept, but for the most part I toss them all. I do, however, keep all of DS's birthday cards that he has received. My mom did that for me, and it was so cool to look back at them!

Generally I toss them. But if they have cute accents or things I like, then I save those parts for my scrapbooking.

I recycle them, I hate cards, unless they contain $$. Personally, I think cards are wasteful, not only are they expensive, but everyone usually just tosses/recycles them.
I think a phone call, or e-mail or even a visit is better.

I save all the kids cards... someday I'll scrapbook them *cut out the pictures and saying" and write who they are from and dates. My mom did that for me and it's nice to go back and see my grandfather's handwriting saying that he loves me... after all these years that he's passed. The sporatic ones Mike and I get, and generic Christmas cards, I recycle... but will usually cut out the saying on the inside if it is cute, for future scrapping reasons.

Most of them get recycled. We save about 10 of the cards of close family members and best friends, which end up on our fridge for a year. Then the "favorites" get saved.
I heard on the radio about someone who put all of their Christmas cards in some kind of binder system they saw on Pinterest -- I thought that sounded like a great idea for people who are artsy, which sadly I am not. But they would somehow punch holes in them, put them in binders and have "binders full of friends and family" (versus "binders full of women," right? Hahahaha). Sorry couldn't help it.

I was thinking the same thing Renee... as soon as I read 'binders full of friends and family' hahaha. that's a good idea though, if one didn't want to cut into them Do they make two ring binders??

Those are good ideas Renee --- especially to look back on over the years. We do keep the photo cards we get at Christmas in photo boxes.

Keep them. If they have a cool design I give them to my Grm to make bookmarks out of. She cuts them out, crochets around the edges, makes a tassel and sells them at a senior center store.
