Thanks Bunsy! Hope you had a good day.
Today was definitely a long work day. I wonder if anything will slow down there ever. It was good to come home to a DS who had a great first day of 1st grade. My niece starts Kindergarten tomorrow (today was orientation day with her parents). Can't believe how grown up they are getting!

Debbie - what was his favorite thing about first grade? Does he feel like a big kid, you think, compared to K?

His favorite thing today was that he has a desk (last year they just had tables). He definitely was acting like a big kid. He didn't want us at the bus stop (we can see him from our deck, so I sat and watched) and walked confidently on the bus like he knew what he was doing.

That's a good thing! I never discover cracked teeth until it falls apart in pieces. Here's hoping it's an easy fix.....

I don't think it's good, I could probably pull out a piece if I tried hard enough (it's cracked around the filling, so that is holding it in). My brother can't get me in until Tuesday. So it's soft food for me.

Ugh. My teeth always break while eating. The last time it was a pb sandwich. Hmmmm. What is this hard crunchy thing in my sandwich? Rats! The one before that was a tootsie roll. I guess I deserved that one! I have several (not so many after two crowns in 3 months) big silver fillings still in my teeth. They are all one bite away from disaster in my mind!
Back to church choir tonite. I love to sing.

Oh what a big kid Debbie! Ian has a desk this year too and was very proud to show it to me.
Ian is LOVING 4th grade. He's the only boy in a class of 4, which he thinks is just perfect. The other 3 kiddos have been his buddies for years. They have a teacher who is new to the school (as a teacher - she graduated from the same school!) and she seems really wonderful. And all his specialists and support teacher are the ones he knows from other years and adores. He just got more and more excited as I read him the list of who he had for each subject.

Bunsy does the choir take the summer off? And otherwise rehearse and perform all school year?

Yes. Summer off. We rehearse and sing from September (1st Sunday after Labor Day) thru Pentocost which varies from the end of May to early June depending on the timing of Christmas, Easter, etc. There is a whole schedule of the order of things which I don't pay much attention to. I just go sing!

Sharon - Glad to hear he is loving 4th grade. That's awesome that he is in such a small class and has a good support team to help him thrive and love learning.
Bunsy - enjoy choir! I wish I could sing or have some musical talent. Just doesn't exist for me.
Today is employee appreciation day at work. They will have a bounce house for kids, dunk tank, etc. Hoping it doesn't rain so DS can enjoy it after school and piano lessons. I also need to remember to sign him up for his art class tonight.
