That is a tough decision to make but I think if those 4 semesters will take you over a year to complete that is a year you could be working on the degree you really want. If you feel that strongly about not wanting to do this then it will be better if you change your major sooner rather than later. At least you figured it out before you got stuck in a job you hated. I know you have worked hard for a long time. I was in school, working, and raising two kids and I know how hard it can be. Stay strong and keep to your path, it might seem like forever but you will make it to the end!

Are there any classes that you've taken that would "go toward" the job you really want? Like basic classes and courses that could be considered electives ... maybe it wouldn't take four years to switch over because some of your accounting classes/basic courses would count toward the overall degree. I would talk to someone at your school and see how many credits would transfer toward the "dream job" and then decide which course to take.
