I thought we could share some ideas here for the Elf on the Shelf.
I just started this year but have found a TON of ideas on Pinterest.

We do elf on the shelf. We started last year, DS loves it! I'm hoping to get started again tonight.

We have one and both DS and DD love it. They love to see where he is going to show up each morning. Both kids wrote letters to Santa over the weekend and had DH put them next to him so he could take them with to the North Pole. They were so excited to see they were gone in the morning.

It's basically a little elf that "spies" on the kids and reports back to santa and tells him whether the kids have been bad or good. Every night you place him in different spots around the house so they kids know that he's moving and keeping an eye on them!

Target has the Elf on the Shelf kits but they also have an elf that is supposed to be for the kids to play with that's only $8 I think.

Is this similar to Flat Stanley? Do kids still do Flat Stanley?

I don't think so. Doesn't Flat Stanley get mailed all over the place?

Our Elf wrote our daughter's name in candy canes, he brought her a cookie, he took one of her horses and was found riding it. My co-workers has had a marshmellow fight, maked a snow elf with power sugar on the table, and has had a tea party with the dolls. This is our 1st year and we are having a lot of fun. My DS who is only 1 is better at finding the elf than my 4yr old DD. I got an email of 101 Things your Elf can do, but not that many are good, here are some cute ones that I plan to do: Hang Kids underwear on tree Take a spin in toy car/remote control car Create a block tower Sit in shoe, holding shoe laces as if going on a sleigh ride Make paper airplanes and fly them around the house Play cards Wrap gifts or cut up wrapping paper

Our Elf made his debut with powdered sugar donuts and cold hot cocoa(chocolate milk) for breakfast. Then he was caught riding in Barbie's car with Wonder Woman, making snow angels in flour on the counter, taking a marshmallow bubble bath in the Barbie hot tub, replaced our stockings with our undies and now today he was playing Xbox. I got all my ideas from Pinterest.com.
