Sounds like a wonderful Sharon! Thanks for the prayers. It helps me anyway to know that we are held in the thoughts of my friends.
I'm kind of enjoying my little vacation. My house was a mess and I just walked away from it all. It will be there when I get home on Sunday but until then? I'm just going to hang out in a clean house and relax.

So, the funniest moment was when Ian was waiting for his friend "K" to come. He was sooo excited and making all these plans, and at one point was hiding behind a door in the dining room, and said he was looking for the perfect hiding spot so K couldn't find him.
K is blind.
I said, "Ian - she's blind. To hide, all you have to do is stop talking." It's funny how he knows but he forgets what it really means.

I was proud of him though. He's definitely not generally ready to share Kaya at all, but we pointed out that his friend can't see her, so if she's going to learn what she is and know what she is like, she'd have to touch her. And sure enough he handed her over while he explained what she looks like.

That's wonderful! That means he likes her for HER not for her vision. We run into funny things with our blind friends too. THey like to talk about the time Earl asked where Patti & I had gone. Bunsette pointed. Earl said, "If you're pointing, I'm going to need a little more information." We just forget. They are Patti and Earl--their blindness isn't really who they are.

They are a good match in that Ian is a talker, and she needs that verbal input to enjoy playing with someone. She's also really good and speaking up for what she needs. The last time they played he got quiet a couple of times, and she would just say, "Ian! You have to talk so I know what you are doing!" "Ian! Talk so I can follow your voice."
