They do an eye check at the beginning of school and she didn't have anything wrong then. As far as food goes, I'm not home with her in the mornings. DH gives her breakfast and packs her lunch. She got home last night and had about a half of a popcorn ball I had from work then passed right out. I'm sure the sugar didn't help but I've never seen her in so much pain before. She drinks a lot of water. She goes through at least a full bottle at home every night. Thanks for the advice angel

Angel, you have a brother? LOL! Yes I do. You didn't know that? His name is Joshua and he is 7 years younger than me. He and my sister look a LOT alike. Oh, and he has a son named Nolan. Remember now?

I don't like to run in for every little thing either but headaches that have happened at that age, 4-5 times in a 2 month span are not little IMO!

My oldest son has been talking about headaches the last couple years and he is 10yo now. He only gets them every once in awhile but I have to keep an eye on him because DH and I both get migranes, so do DH's sister and mother so there is major family history there. I just give him childrens motrin or ibuprofen and tell him to lay down and that usually helps alot.
I didn't realize a chiropractor could help with headaches....should tell DH about that because he has been getting a lot lately....although he thinks it's because of his teeth. I would get headaches alot when I didn't where my glasses for extended periods of time (like swimming). I know you mentioned the school did a eye check with her but the eye Dr is a lot more thorough in my opinion. I try to get the boys eyes checked once a year. They both have to wear glasses now but my oldest is only on readers but it still helps.

See that's the same with us too. My mom gets migraines all the time, and I get them whenever aunt flow is in town. DD hates taing medicine...it's a battle with her.
I think I will check out going to a chiro. I'm going to have to start going in soon anyway with this belly i got goin on. It helped so much when i was preggars with DD to go, so bringing her won't be a big deal.

Well, DD was at her dads this weekend. He didn't mention anything, and she didn't. She seems to be fine today. They occur very randomly so it most likely is something she's eating to trigger it.

Our neighbors's DD has jsut been diagnoses with migraines too. I think she got glasses-though she told me they were fake. Stress can be a major trigger for headaches, lack of sleep and certain foods. Is she having any other symptoms-flashing lights, blurry vision, neck pain, teeth clenching, nausea? There is a list of foods I am sure you can find online to try to eliminate that are commom triggers for people. Also if she is clenching/grinding her teeth the dentist may be able to help. Chiropractor is great but sometimes the copay or deductable is high. I started getting really bad migraines when I was about 7 or 8, and I remember getting an aura- seeing colored spots. I have since learned what triggers migraines for me and how to manage them to keep them from being so disabling. I still get the occasional migraine but now I don't have to miss 3 days of work to recover. I hope she will be feeling better soon.
