Agreed! Get the biggest tent you can. If you are going by car then it's not like you have to carry it on your back and you will appreciate the room for duffels, toys, etc, and a place to hang out in the rain.
We have liked Baker in the past. We love Itasca. Gooseberry - that was many years ago but it was lovely. Jay Cooke.

You'll create family memories that'll last a lifetime! Hope you have a wonderful time. I'm totally with you on the extra tent space...it comes in handy if you face a rainy day and need to play games in there.

Savannah Portage was a lot of fun.
Jay Cook State Park was nice and pretty close to duluth
My favorite so far is Itasca State Park, lots to do and lots to see for the whole family.
