Good morning!
I have to make DD's costume this morning, which means a trip to Joanns. We have a Halloween playdate today that I just found out that we could come!

Good Morning all! DD just pleaded to not go to school due to various issues-- sore tummy, headache, etc-- she says she wants to go, but just feels really bad.I told her no friend over tonight, no computer, and limited screen time-- she was ok with all that. She is 10 and 4th grade. I'm home with DS (2.5 yo) already so not big deal for me really. What do people think? I really think she is feeling badly, but often this goes away in few hours-- if it does this time-- I will take her to school.

Good morning ladies.
Maybe she just feels ill because its morning time? I wake up for work at 4:30 am so I usually feel really groggy, have a light headache, and a bit of an upset stomach until I shower, have coffee, eat breakfast, etc.

Hi deannemdm! I don't have a 10yo so I might not be much help, but I know that if I was 'fake' sick when I was younger and my mom told me no friend over or no TV I'd feel better pretty quickly, lol! If she was ok with all that maybe she really doesn't feel well.

That's what I'm thinking-- I don't make staying home very attractive or reinforcing. Last year we were walking down the stairs from the bedrooms and she was complaining about her stomach hurt. I was brushing it off pretty much and before we got to the bottom, she had to rush to bathroom at bottom of steps and throw up. She doesn't do it much-- but this is the second time this year--(last time was the Friday before MEA). I think the morning thing is part of it-- or was last time at least.

Deanne, I've had that issue with DD as well. I swear every Weds of her 5th grade year she was home. I started to do if you don't have a fever and are not throwing up you're going to school. A lot of the time she just wanted to sleep more. I would say, if you get to school and just can't make it, call and I'll come and get you. I never once got a call.

my son is "sick" every morning so I can't help you there! I send him unless he has a fever, vomiting or diarrhea. He feels better once he gets to school. This morning was no fun - DS and I got in an arguement and those days just put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day.
