Anyone have a popup from Online Consumer Report.net? I had just sent a pm, and stepped away from my computer for a bit, when I came back to screen it said something to the effect of are these yours, and that they infected and to use myPCBackup.com... Also it was talking about The Blackmal virus and others...and that you need to backup your computer to online backup, to keep your files safe.... I started the process of signing up for free trial, had it back-up my documents file, then it showed a screen that only part of your files were backed up, so I checked the very bottom of the screen on Billing department, and that showed me they wanted $$ to backup the rest of my files. LIGHTBULB MOMENT, Maybe this is not an online version of Consumer Reports, that I thought it was. It said I can delete my account, but how do I know what they are going to do with the My Documents folder contents???
Anyone have any ideas, so they don't do anything to My Documents folder, and that I can get my files back safely?1.The Blackmal virus and many others are irreversible, backing up your computer will ensure that you do not lose any of your precious files.

I'm about 90% positive that mypcbackup.com is a nasty virus. I think a couple years back I even had trouble with it myself. I say don't touch it. If anything pops up online with information about you or your computer its already infected your computer.

Last time I had that virus my brother had to completely wipe my computer and I lost everything.

@samantha, Well, I found instructions on how to take the program off my computer, (Windows Vista) under Control Panel. So, I did that. Then I had emails from them, so I clicked on the unsubscribe link. so, hoping that will be the end of them "bugging me" to sign up for more coverage ($$). Still have not figured this part out: I'm wondering how to get all my documents back from them, and hope they haven't screwed anything up?Some reviewers were talking about serious lack of customer service, hard to get their money back, took a long time, if they were able to get it, etc. So, I'm not out any $$'s, but just the worry of what about my documents, and if they will do something to them or use my information against me/identity theft or whatever.

Aunt Sue asked me to post that she will be without the internet for a few days. Her computer is very sick and needs medical attention! She hopes to be back up by the middlle of the week.
