Please tell me this will get better?! I have been working out 30 minutes everyday the past week since my surgeon gave me the go ahead! I was told to start 3 days a week for now but I get such an adrenaline rush I like to do it. Thing is I am big girl and I am so sore at the end of the day after my workouts. Ouch! It isnt anything really painful but it is a good feeling (know what I mean???!!) Is it just my body not used to this or what?!! I am so excited tho....The hospital as a program once a week for free personal trainers to work with us going through the program. We get a clothing credit and workout shoes as well. It is nice since you can only be in the class if you are in the WLS program meaning there will only be big people there all struggling the same as me! Yippee!!! !

Your body will get use to it! Doing some good stretches before and after helps me out! And it is a good idea to let your body rest for a day from the working out so it can recover!

You go girl! When I first started working out, holy crap was I in pain!! Every movement solicited an "ow" lol. But it felt good at the same time too which was weird...especially working out when you're sore..I know, I'm weird! Anyway, it's a good sign, so keep up the hard work! And that is so awesome about the hospital program!

So proud of you, Amy!! It's no fun but once you get started it's a great feeling of accomplishment. A month from now, you will look back and say WOW! I have come soooo far! Keep it up, girl! So proud of you honey!

It is supposed to hurt! If you weren't in at least a little bit of pain...then you wouldn't be doing it right! Yes...it does get better. I remember when I started TKD last year, it hurt like hell! Then, all of a sudden, it went away. Then, like magic, Langston and I went for a bike ride this summer....and I could do much better than I had done in a long time!
Good Luck, have fun!

Go girl!! Your body will get used to it and love it! I've never been much of a stretcher myself, but after especially hard/long workouts, I find if I drink a protein shake I'm not as sore as I should be that night or the next day.
Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with the above posts. Your muscles are just getting used to the new routine, and it will take some time. I exercise regularly but after my one super-tough workout each week, I'm still sore the next day (or two). I read that drinking chocolate milk after a workout is supposed to be a good choice, as are bananas (for the potassium). You should be so proud of yourself!!! Way to go.

be sure to stretch before and after your workouts, drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated. After my workouts I would drink a whey protein shake and it seems to help with the muscle soreness.

OMG yes! You get get super sore because you body isn't used to working those muscles. I have an office job now and even when I am at home doing some major cleaning I will be fine but then the next day the back of my legs are super sore! LOL Once your muscles get more used to working out then the pain will lessen.
Good for you on getting into shape (I really need to do the same). Wishing you great success!!!!!
