Are your presents wrapped and under the tree? For those of you with young kids, how do you keep them from playing with them or touching them?

We have all of our presents hiding in the closet, and typically we don't put any out until Christmas Eve, once DS has fallen asleep. I think it makes it that more exciting to go to sleep with nothing under the tree and then wake up with presents everywhere! I'm sure as he gets older though, we will start putting them under earlier.

This year is tough. I think if we put them under the tree he would open them so we are waiting until Eve this year....A few smalls are wrapped and hidden in the garage but we need to take the big ones to the mall to have them wrap them....too awkward of boxes etc.

I just wrapped all the presents and stuck them under the tree. Keeps them excited for Christmas! They do pretty well on leaving them alone.

Ours are wrapped and under the tree. Currently though their are none of the boys, just for everything else. They do not touch them, if they attempt too I just tell them I am going to bring it back to the store and they will not get it, it keeps them away from them.

We always had ours under the tree with no opening problems (except for the year the dog opened his dog bone). No presents under our tree yet this year. Gotta get on that!

When DD was young, I did something my mom said she did (I don't remember). SHe put the tree in the playpen-- I did it with the pack and play with DD-- you could see everything and have gifts yet she couldn't pull off stuff or get at it-- never did it with DS as he was wither too young to bother or too old for it to work.

I have been debating putting them under the tree in fear that DS1 and 2 will open them...I think I will put the ones in brown boxes under, that way if they are opened they don't know what it is still and the others I will hide in my closet. I feel like part of the magic is seeing the gifts and getting excited. I think seeing them will help Ds1 understand better what is going on.

Right now they're hidden in my storage unit down the hall. I plan on wrapping them today, but am not sure if I'll put them under the tree yet. The kids are pretty good at leaving things alone, but I usually wait until close to the end to put them there.

I wait until just before. They can't stay away otherwise!

Ours are wrapped and under the tree. This is the first year I've done that and so far so good. (*knock on wood*) Usually I wrap them and keep them in a tub and then put them out the night before because I didn't trust DD to not open them and the kitties like to mess with them. We just told DD, "If you touch them, we're going to return them."

We have them wrapped under the tree, and while the kids are always checking out the name tags to see which gift is for whom, they're old enough now to just be excited. Our biggest challenge is that our cat likes to eat the ribbons (which he then pukes up, ughhhh) so our gifts are wrapped but no ribbons until the last minute!

We never put any presents out until Christmas Eve. Our boys would have never left them alone or we had a pet we didn't want messing with things. And we still do that even now....mostly because I still don't think the boys would leave them alone! LOL
