My son was diagnosed with PDD-NOS in May of 2003 from the Early Childhood Assessment team with Dist 742 schools. We got the official Autism diagnosis for University of Minnesota, Fairview Hospital later that year. Aaron is mainstreamed in the schools here in St. Cloud and does quite well, he was re-evaluated a few years ago and they believe he has Asperger's Syndrome. He is very high functioning, excels in Math, has crazy good Artistic skills and loves Science. He struggles socially of course and has trouble with transitions, but he has come a long way and made tremendous progress since getting diagnosed.

Sorry about the link. Sounds like your son has a great success story. It is reassuring to know if my son does have autism we are already set up for him to succeed and get the help he needs.

Have you gotten your son evaluated by the Early Ed program? They come to your house and do the evaluation for free through the school district. Early Intervention is the key!
