I am doing baked potatoes with dinner tonight...
How long do I bake them?? They are pretty large.
Do you wrap them in foil?
I didn't know where to put this thread... there is the dinner one, and then recipes.. but it's not really either.. we need a "food help" section lol or maybe we do and I couldnt find it.

You can do them in the microwave for about 20 minutes.

I wash them, poke them with a fork, slather them in olive oil and sprinkle Mrs Dash on them. Place them on a foil-lined cookie sheet and bake them for about 1.5 hours. Maybe 2 depending on the size.

I wish I knew how to make a baked potato because potatos are my favorite but I have no clue how long to bake them. I do know that you poke holes in it with a fork and then wrap them in tinfoil, just not a clue how long they bake or at what degree.

I scrub the potatoes, poke them with a fork, and put them directly on the oven rack at 350 degrees for 1.5 hours.

I have heard of people rubbing with olive oil. then rubbing with salt.. I should slurge on some olive oil!! I never have it in the house because it's pretty expensive.
can a different oil be used?

I use the store brand EVOO's, they tend to be a little less spendy! Feel free to use the Free For All Chat section of the site for all your...,I don't know where to post posts!

I usually poke them with a fork three times down the center then flip it over and do the same to the other side. I will set them in the top rack of the stove and cook them while the meat is in. If I can take a fork and poke the potatoe and it goes in super easy I know it's done.
OH LOOK I ANSWERED A COOKING QUESTION! GO ME GO ME! Oh sorry excited for myself for a minute I usually can't answer any of these questions! Hope that helps!

Go to Trader Joe's for Olive Oil! Yes about 1.5 hours for larger potatoes should do the trick :-) I do 350 degrees as well and cook them right along side the meat or whatever you have. the fork should go in real smooth when checking it to see if it is done. Nothing is worse than an undone potato...or a microwaved potato in my opinion.

1 hour and 45 minutes at 350 degrees was perfect for the large potatoes. I scrubbed them, and then rubbed them with oil, poked holes and sprinkled seasoned salt on them.
Thanks Ladies... they were delish!!

I know this is too late, but you can buy steam bags in the grocery zip lock bag area and it makes great baked potatoes in 7 minutes. You can re-use the bag for each potatoes you need to cook. These bags are amazing!!!

Nice! When you use the oil and salt then you can even eat the skins which are super good for you!
