Hi all. I'm very new to this board so hopefully I do this correctly. Just wanted to get the word out... I have about 500-700 oz of breastmilk I am looking to donate. I need to get rid of it before it becomes too old. My almost one year old son is allergic to all cow's milk/dairy, wheat, soy, peanuts, and tree nuts. All of this milk I am looking to donate was pumped and stored before we found this out. Now I am still breastfeeding, but my diet is free of all of his allergies. If anyone knows someone who could benefit from this milk, please let me know. I'd prefer someone who is in need of the milk, due to medical reasons or the mother's inability to produce, etc. We are located in the Plymouth area. Thanks for any help.

What a great thing! I wonder if you should contact a hospital or ped clinic to see if they could connect you with someone.

If you have a FB account "Like" the good letdown or check the website out. thegoodletdown.blogspot.com/ I know they have a BM donation link. Good for you for donating! I was a milk machine and had a freezer full but DS and I went through a severe reflux stage so my frozen supply went quick

There is an organization called "International Breast Milk Project" that was founded by a woman in Minnesota. Here is the website: www.breastmilkproject.orgThey donate breast milk to people in Africa. I have met Jill Youse the founder, she is a pretty amazing woman!

Corals - maybe?? She probably was on Oprah but I never really watched that show. I met her at an awards ceremony for the Ten Outstanding Young Minnesotans (she was one of the award winners) back in 2009.

Thanks for all the responses. I will have to start looking into all of these suggestions. The first time I donated was to a woman in Edina who had an 8 year old daughter with a feeding tube due to a neurological disorder. I, however, lost all of her contact information. Hospitals and clinics will not take the milk because I was not screened prior to donation, which is unfortunate but very understandable. I'll let you know what I decide on!
