Do you do anything special for your kids on V-Day? For your spouse? Yourself?

We get take-out and have a nice family dinner at home.

We don't have a 'traditional' way to celebrate v-day. Last year Mike made a crab and shrimp dinner for us and that was really nice!
More than likely we will make a nice dinner at home. It's hard to eat out at any nice places with DS on v-day because its always so packed.

We used to go out for dinner. Our first Valentine's day together we did the whole bit - presents, flowers, and dinner out. But that was hideously expensive, so we decided after that to stick with dinner, since a nice time together was what mattered most to us. So we used to go out before Ian was born.
One time we went to Rainforest Cafe. We had a nice dinner in the "ambiance" of the rainforest. There were couples all around and our waitress was slowly shmoozing each table, telling each couple how cute they were together and asking how long they had been together, etc. She was all friendly until she got to us, at which point she cocked her head to one said and said abruptly, "Do you want separate checks?"
I was very restrained and did not bite her head off.

I was young. I would say something now. For days I debated calling and talking to the manager to let them know their staff is lacking some basic education. But I never did.
And we do get asked if we want separate checks almost every time we eat out as a family. But now I have a pat response, "No thanks - We are one family."
I should learn to use my powers of invisibility for good.

Wow Sharon! Sorry you had such a bad experience for V day. People really do need some basic education in customer service and not making assumptions about people's relationships based on who they are dining with.
We used to do V day stuff when were were just dating. It is so packed that day in restaurants that we just make a nice dinner at home and we'll buy DS a small item.

We party, decorate and celerate--the house is almost as decorated as xmas by then --only all red. It is a big week for us with a special b-day-- so we make the most of of it every year. I love having a big party as it seems like the perfect excitement post December/January celebrations. DD is already on a count down to the big day.
I however did not like seeing a few v-day items on end caps already on December 26-- the stores can't wait to start the next season.

We either make a nice dinner at home or get a heart shaped pizza now that we have kids. It's too busy to go somewhere and fun to celebrate with the girls. We are trying to limit what they get for holidays/birthdays, etc. because we have spoiled them and now they expect a lot. So we don't give them anything for Valentine's Day.

We usually go all out. We take a Mid January trip up north for our anny and V-day since Feb is busy for us. Day of we will have dinner which is him picking up olive garden and bringing it home and exchange gifts.

I know it is early but it seems everyone thinks too early as it is. I did see Vday candy at the store the other day.
We tend to not do anything for V-Day, I cook dinner at home and maybe a slight chance I will get something from the husband but we do not get him anything. I would rather have to cook dinner on Vday then have to cook on my birthday and it is too hard to really go out 2 nights in a row for dinner.

We can't stand V-day lol. DH's birthday is the next day, and that's a lot more special to me than V-day, so I go all out for that instead!
