I was googling the other day trying to find different ways to induce labor that maybe I haven't tried yet and I read a couple things that said starting to breast pump now will help bring it on.... Has anyone ever heard of this?? Or tried it themselves?? I'm thinking of trying it but I don't know yet. I just want this little man to come OUT OUT OUT!!! lol

Can't believe he's not OUT OUT OUT yet!!! Was waiting all week! lol
I have never heard of it, but hey, if you do pump and get some milk out, put it in the freezer and you'll at least have some. Hopefully something helps soon!

I've never heard of it. I say don't try to rush the little one out. I know how hard it is at the end but he will come when he is ready. If you try to rush it I have heard you will have a harder labor.

I have heard of it... not exactly sure where, but.. it'd be worth a try.. can't see that it would hurt anything!

I've read about it...if I remember right it releases something (its the natural form of Pitocin but I can't thing of the name!) I have not tried it though! I for sure thought that little boy would be out by now! Come on baby!

I have heard of that, but I agree with Kelly..don't rush him out, he'll come when he's good and ready! I know, I know..not what you want to hear when you're so uncomfortable..hope you get some relief soon gf!

My coworker mentioned that to me when I was pregnant -- I believe she didn't pump but was trying to express milk by hand or something and it did start her contractions. Didn't try it myself though.

I KNOW!! Me too!! He was speeding things up for a long time and now apparently he's changed his mind about coming out. Grr
They say it works because it's like nipple stimulation which helps bring on labor. But when you do that by hand you have to do it for a long time for it to be effective. I guess with the breast pump you don't have to do it for as long. I'm still indecisive though.

Gwensmama- I know that you are ready to have this little guy, but try to relax and know that he will come when your body is ready. I remember being so ready for DS too, he came at exactly 41 weeks (without induction) and that last week of waiting was the hardest. Hang in there.

Yup never push it...results are usually long hard labor. Wait til your body is ready, stop trying and stop thinking about...plan something fun, a day out and he will likely ruin your plans by coming then because you are relaxed!

I agree to not push it! Let him come on his terms. DD1 was 2 weeks late, turns out she was the most content and mellow baby EVER! I never tried any thing to make her come early but I understand how uncomfortable you feel. Hang in there!

Yeah...just relax and let it happen natural because all the women that I know that try to self induce just end up with incredibly strong contractions w/ nothing happening to actually get labor going. One friend did this...yeah ended up with 5 days of hard contractions and puking with no results. She still had to be induced, and it was harder then her first she said.
