Hey sewing mommies! I'm planning on sewing a few things for my pregnant cousin and I'm thinking about doing cute burp cloths. If you have sewed them before what kind of fabric do you use? I have seen minky fabric being used but it looks way to nice to be used as a burp cloth lol. Thanks!

The ones I've seen are the pre-folded cloth diapers with a patterned fabric sewn on.

I just found a really adorable/cute "Burp Cloth Tutorial". She uses prefold diapers and cute printed or stripes flannel to back them [so they stay on her shoulder, not falling off and her getting spit up on.] [Sorry I don't know how to post pictures on here.] Sew She Sews's sewshesews.wordpress.com/2009/07/29/burp-cloth-tutorial/

minky on one side and flannel on the other make a great burp cloth. Also I have made a ton out of cheap prefold diapers with flannel sew down the middle

Thanks for the link AS! Prefolds would be great to use.
Outdoors- I'm going to assume they use the flannel side to wipe up the spit up then? It just looks so soft and nice hahaha. I think I'm definitley going to make her a blanket out of the minky fabric!

I make mine with terrycloth on one side and flannel on the other. There are so many cute patterns in flannel and a few colors of terrycloth, but you can usually match them up pretty well.

Yep the flannel is the absorbent part for the spit up the minky is just nice and soft and your shoulders or hand or else for your little one to grab onto
