Friday I slipped and fell on the ice. I caught myself and all seemed well. Woke Sunday and my whole upper arm, neck and shoulder is in so much pain. I'm a big girl so this can't be good. I can't even pick up a glass of water. It doesnt hurt all the time just when I move it or pick up something heavy. Buttoning DS coat is painful Today I woke thinking it was better and it is even worse. Even typing this and the way I move my arm is painful. I have been taking 800 mg if ibuprofen and vicodin when it is bad but neither are helping I hate going in for them to tell me it will eventually go away...so I wonder if I should make an appt and get checked out or will I waste my time? I HATE the dr, so this is a huge step but Im in pain. I just don't want them to say tough it out and be on my way..... let me know what yall think or if this has happened to you.

Structural injuries like that send me to my amazing chiropractor. I've never had any luck with medical doctors in those situations. The answer is always rest and ibuprofen. If something is out of place, it won't get back in place by itself.
Good luck. Hope you feel better soon.

I'd start with your main physician. It might be that you end up going somewhere else, but that's always my starting point. Friday is a long time ago. I do think you should go in.

I agree with Sharon. You'll feel so much better after you do.

I don't know where your injured but I fell off a chair once and landed on my elbow. I could have swore my arm was broken. I went to the ER and was told everything was good but if you injure your elbow the way I had it can make it feel like you broke your arm. I couldn't life my arm at all for a few days, couldn't wash my own hair or put it in a ponytail. I had to splint it and take pain meds. Maybe you just hit a bad nerve or something but if you are in that much pain you should see a Dr just in case.
Good luck sweety!

So sorry to hear you are hurting, Hope you can get in to see someone soon. It's a week ago, I would think it shouldn't hurt as much as when you first fell.

I had to go in, it was too much to handle. I can give birth with no meds but this threw me under the bus. I have Shoulder Tendonitis. I will be seeing a specialist to help me this week. I'm on a nice pain reliever so I'm pretty happy now haha.

Oh bummer! Tendonitis is not fun! I had it in both shoulders my senior year of swim team. Mine was caused by repetitive motion. To this day I still can't hold things above my head for very long until my arms go numb. I had lots of PT that really helped. Hope you get it all worked out!
