I'm horrible at tracking my food!
I just logged onto my account...it says I signed up in September of 2008...I had to request my password, it's been so long since I logged on! I'm going to work on setting my page up...my name is the same as on here if you want to add me! I see a lot of people having success with the page I guess I better give it try now since I signed up for it so long ago lol!

I haven't weighed myself since I started on Saturday (I don't own a scale at home so need to weigh myself next time I'm at the gym). I want to know if there's progress, but I'm also kind of worried that if there's NOT -- then I'll be discouraged. But I need to remind myself that with women, there's naturally fluctuations up and down. I just need the overall trend to be DOWN!!!

Renee, even without a scale you can measure your progress by how your clothes are fitting. I invested in a good tailor's tape measure from JoAnn's for around $3-$4. You can keep track of your measurements and see what is changing. I've lost a couple of inches on my arm and hips. Some other measurements have fluctuated, but the fact that I'm wearing a full size smaller in clothes helps to keep me going. I don't want to see 2 x's again. I hope to have no x's soon!

That's a good idea. I have a pair of dress pants that are tight ... I can fit into them, but it's not comfortable. They could be my new "scale."

I'm soooo happy for you Cake! I've tried SparkPeople several times but it is really hard for me to keep track of everything I eat :/ it gets so time consuming.

Yes, tracking is time consuming. You could just write everything down as you go and track everything at the end of the day. It's easier when you have some "favorites" so you can search the same item again instead of having to look for something each time. I think it's worth it though. It's a learning experience to see where calories are hiding.
I am finally out of the 200's! Today is a more than 30 pound loss! I love seeing that 1 at the beginning of the number again!

That is great cake! I have struggled again, the tracking was too much and not working. I am doing a fitness challenge w/ my cousin for 3 months. We set 3 goals each month. This first month my goals are: 1- to exercise 20 times in the month 2 - to lose 8 lbs 3- no unhealthy fast food (nothing fried and no chips)
So far 1 week in I have exercised 6 times and am on track for the other goals. I am hoping that accountability to someone I love (but not my husband that doesn't work for us) will help.

I'm down 44 pounds so far and have pictures, but still can't figure out how to post them here, so if you want to see my updated blog with the newest pictures, follow this link: www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4994510I also don't know if you'll be able to see the blog without a spark page of your own, so let me know if it works for you! In one more pound lost, I'll no longer be obese, just overweight!
