Hey ladies! I'm a crochet nerd!!! lol I taught myself, and it's not the greatest I must admit, but I enjoy it. Especially in the winter when there's nothing better to do than make scarves. I've done one BIG project, and that was a blanket for my grandma...she LOVES it. Anyone else have fun projects they've done? tips for a noob?

A couple years before she passed my Grandma taught me how to make Granny Squares. I pick it up every winter because it is a really good thing to keep my hands busy (and out of the chip bag) when I'm watching TV and stuck indoors. I have yet to make enough squares to make anything with them but one day I'll get there

Yep...keepin my hands out of the chip bag is why i do it too! lol
i did that last winter, made some larger squares (like a foot by a foot) and have now combined a bunch of them together for a blanket for DD. still have yet to finish though. i have a problem with that.

I started to learn just before I had DD3 but then got too busy with her and lost everything I had learned! =( I should give it a try again...

Single crochet is pretty easy to get a grasp of. thats what most of my blankets/scarves are. i'm just not talented enough to understand all the other lingo that goes with it. lol i do have some books though, maybe i should look at them.

I suck at knitting. But I am hoping to be able to crochet! I'm in a knitting club with a bunch of girls that meet once a month during the year. Tomorrow is our first night of the year!!

Love to crochet and I figured out most of the stitches from YouTube. I have a few hats and a blanket I'd love to make, I just need to find the time!

I've tried to teach myself how to crochet but somewhat unsuccessfully. Wish there was a group in the south east metro that I could join up with. If I have something scheduled I can arrange the time to put into it. Lynsee do you have room in your group for one more?
