I only know how to knit one type, but my friend is going to teach me how to crochet. I only learned to keep me busy when I am at hockey and other kid events I have to wait at. I would love to join a group who meets up to craft. I know someone else who calls it stitch and bitch. Let me know!!

Anyone want to make me some washcloths? I had gotten some as a gift years ago and they now have holes in them. If you are interested please IM me with how much they would be. Thanks Katie

Like many others have mentioned, my grandma taught me how to crochet when I was 9. I still have the first blanket I crocheted at that age, basically a giant granny square! It's now38 years old and is such a great reminder of those times with my Grandma!
I don't crochet much anymore due to carpal tunnel, but I have recently started looming and am making some jingle scarves for xmas presents this year.
I never could figure out how to knit though!

my great grandma tired to teach me when i was younger, i just could not figure out anything more than a chain! my mil handed me a book, yarn & a hook & said have at it. I am so thankful for the internet! i wanna have an etsy site one day, but for now i am just working on improving my technic & see what happens from there

Hey ladies! Love, I think those shorts are hilarious!!!!!!! Is there a group that is meeting monthly still??? I knit and just taught myself crochet. Typically I do hats, but only because they are easy and useful here in MN! I do it on the bus to and from work and sometimes on lunch since that is the only time I find works.

My Grandma taught me how to crochet, many years ago. I haven't done any in a llllllooonnngggg time. Don't remember how to any more. I would rather use my sewing machine instead to make crafts. How to crochet: lesson 1 www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVBnFHGbeK4This person has 363 videos on Youtube. Is this the person someone mentioned in their post earlier on this thread?

I taught myself too when I was pg with DS1 (it helped keep my hands busy since I quite smoking). I made a blanket and after that I was done. I would like to get back into it but I want to buy the looms that they have in the stores for making blankets, hats, scarves, etc. I would really like to use those and get more into it.

I taught myself the basic knit stitch thanks to YouTube videos. So far, just scarves, and the bigger needles make scarves faster than the small one I'm using now. I can't figure out the lingo in the books so I may not ever make much more than scarves or maybe a blanket? I am addicted to keeping my hands busy with it, I'm glad I'm getting in to it.
