Hi Apryll. I would have enjoyed them in a different place in my life too! I'm just being silly. Today is cross fingers and do laundry day. DH is home for 30 hours unless he can't stand being away from his Dad or he gets called back. So I need to do the laundry quick just in case!

Not good. Which is to be expected, he is dying after all. I wish he could let go and just pass. It's so sad to see him lying there, wasting away--mentally as well as physically.
His mom sent him home for an overnight--said he's doing too much and someone else can take the night shift tonite. I hope he makes it through the day here but he is so torn between loving being home and sleeping in his own bed and being away from his dad.

I know that feeling. On the Friday the hospice nurse told us it would be over Memorial Day weekend so my sister and I went over on Saturday and planned our stay for the night. He passed at 7:30 Saturday night. Give him an extra special hug from all of us Mommies on your fake friends site, Bunsy. He's a good man.

We just went thought a difficult passing in our family, my great aunt passed away right before Christmas and she was really like a grandma to me. She was 91, but she had been in good health up until about 6 months before she had passed away. She seemed like she was doing relatively well until she decided she was tired of fighting...she asked to see various family members, like Kendra and I. Right after we visited her, she told her daughter-in-law that she was ready to let go, she told her all of her wishes for her funeral and then she went to take a nap and did not wake up. She decided it was time for her to let go.

When my grandma passed away, she kept fighting to stay alive until my brother and I told her "it is okay to let go", and then she did. I have talked to a few doctors about this, and they have all said that quite often the person is in control. Maybe if your family tells him it is okay to let go, and that you will all be okay, maybe he will stop fighting and finally be at rest.

I think once you're at that age and ready, you just know when it's your time. Kind of like animals. It's never easy though
