I make a chicken wild rice soup that I LOVE! I have a potluck at work next week and was thinking, can I premake the soup, then heat it in the crockpot the next day? Anyone done this? How long do you think it has to re-heat for? I'm kind of a clueless cook:(

Just checked a web site and it sounded like it is not advisable as the temp does not rise fast enough through the "danger zone" for bacteria. It was suggested to re heat on the stove then keep in crock pot to keep it warm while serving.

I reheat on the stove before leaving home and then keep it hot in the potluck.

Hmmm interesting! My mom always made a huge batch of chili, froze half of it and then reheated it in the crockpot when we had it for dinner the next time. Wonder if it's different if it has been frozen?

I've done it too Lil. I know it isn't the "safest" method of food handling. I don't want to tell someone it's ok and then have someone get sick. So I'm butt covering.......like the government.
