I am anti inducement.... I would never elect to have one unless it were life and death for me or baby. Sending labor vibes your way!

I was induced with my 2nd child and the whole experience was WAY better then my first. They broke my water and gave me pitocin which quickly brought on the contractions. The down side was that my babies heart rate took a dive which can happen but they put a heart monitor on the babies head to keep an eye out and where ready for a c-section if need be. However, everything went smoothly after that.
Good luck!

I was induced with both DDs. With DD1, I was scheduled for induction that same day. My water broke before we went to the hospital, but labor wasn't progressing so I was given Pitocin anyway, around 1:30. Contractions were hard, but I didn't know any differently. Didn't have an epidural and pushed for 45 minutes and she was born at 6:08. With DD2, they started pitocin, broke my water at 8:30, I had an epidural and she was born at 11:11. I had good experiences with both inductions. DD1 was elective, though since my water broke that was meant to be her day anyway, and with DD2 the doctor didn't want her to get too big. At 36 weeks she was already bigger than DD1 was at 39 weeks 5 days!

I would also wait until you are at least 40 weeks to induce. If baby comes before that great, if not I wouldn't rush it since they say your due date can be off by a couple weeks either way.
I remember when I was pregnant and was so ready to be done. I know my doctor said they don't induce unless 2weeks over or if it is medically necessary.

My first was 2 weeks late, when I went in I was at 4c, so they broke my water, but nothing happened. I was given pitocin and he was born 8 hours later. DS was 9#7oz and 23.5" long. With DD1 they took her early, because I wanted to deliver her with no c section. She was 10 days early and was 8# 3oz and 21". They gave me pirocin and she was born 8 hours later. With both I was able to walk around the hospital until the pain wouldn't let me. I also didn't use any drugs. I was sick after my son was born, but fine after my DD1. DD2 was born 5 days early with no help, but had an induction set up. She was 9#2 oz and 23".
The only thing with me is the induction brings on the pain faster and harder then when it is natural. IT all hurts, but one didn't hurt over the other. My last one was only a 5 hour labor. I woke up with my water breaking and she was born 5 hours later. My fear was a c section and I didn't want that. I did eat a lot of spicy food and walked a few miles each day to get DD2 out on my own. I also kept busy to get it started!!
Good luck. Whatever you choose it's what's best for you and your family!! Hope this helps!!

I was induced Saturday and had my baby later that day. It was pretty fantastic. I had group B strep so it was good to be able to plan it, so I would get my medication in time. I had a baby boy 8lbs 6oz. 20.5in long and we named him Jameson Allen! With my first, I went into labor and 15 hours later I got an epidural and had to be induced after that because labor slowed down. Because he was a week overdue, and had a large head, he had to be suctioned out anyways. So I think every delivery is different.

I'm GBS positive, too, so I have to have the meds administered as well. But I had that with my first labor as well. We'll see how my appointment goes tomorrow! Hoping to have progressed some more!

Well no progress as of today. If I make it to my next appointment next Wednesday, we'll talk about induction. BUT she'll only do it if I've progressed and my cervix is ready. She'll try an 'extra vigorous' exam first and schedule the induction for the next day if we decide to go that route. She was goign to do the extra vigorous exam today but my cervix wasn't ready. I really appreciate your stories on this topic!

Well Lynsee...I know you're ready for that babe to come...but it may still be some time! The longer baby cooks the better, so don't rush. Enjoy your pregnancy...as much as you can at this point anyway.
