I know there was a thread by Cissy last month about Vday, but wanted to see what people actually ended up doing for their kids for the holiday! My son has been really into trains, so we went to toys r us this weekend to try and find a wooden train set that is expandable and will grow with ds. Most of the 50 piece ones were around 50-70 dollars or more, but I found a 50 piece imaginarium set with the Polar Express theme for 75% off.. so I got it for 15 dollars!!! My husband set it up yesterday for him. He loves it! So that was his Valentine's Day gift. Too little for candy IMO.

I have gotten my kids nothing. I needed to go to the store last night and it didn't happen and I am too lazy to take 3 extra kids today to the store while the oldest is in school. I also will probably not be leaving the house tonight so when I get to the store next I will buy them some of the candy hearts on clearance. Otherwise we do not do things for V-day.

I'm in the nothing camp. Sometimes I made a special treat for their lunch when they were young. Otherwise, just another day.

DH got them some cookies and I'll probably whip up a little card for them. Then I'll hit the sales in the next 2 days to get something more. I wanted to do some of the ideas I saw on pinterest but I totally spaced on it.

I will be picking them each up a cute little necklace or hair bow. We are having heart-shaped pizza and S'mores pizza from Papa Murphy's before we head to swimming lessons tonight.

They each got a small basket with a my little pony toy, a little flashlight that projects images on the wall, hello kitty pez dispenser, candy hearts, DD1 ring pops, DD2 skittles. I also made heart shaped strawberry rice krispie treats! DH bought them some roses and flowers he thinks look like lilies but he's unsure lol (their middle names are rose & lily) I thought it was cute!

We don't usually celebrate vday, but I think it's great for the kids... When P gets older it'll be more fun!

I didn't do anything for either of the kids. I figure DD will get enough crap at school and DSD is too young for it anyway. Just never been a big celebrator of the holiday I guess.

DH got a stuffed gorilla for DS and I got a few smaller candy treats for us to share. We will also be ordering a heart shaped pizza from Papa Murphys for dinner with angel food cake and chocolate stuffed raspberries for dessert.

I went to Walmart yesterday just to find that there shelves where empty and Easter candy had already been set out! Yikes!
So I went to walgreens. They each got a small box of heart shaped chocolates, sweattarts, a big lollipop, a package of big red gum, and a little stuffed dog that when you push it's belly says "I woof you".

Dh took care of that this year. He got DS a shrek movie, a goofy book, 101 dalmetion stuffed animal and he surprised us by booking a trip to Disney for a few days after DS birthday. I had no idea he did that!

We get our DDs Valentine's Day cards, and I'll make one of their favorite meals tonight for dinner with a yummy dessert. I'll try to make sure we have time tonight to play a game or do something fun (DH is out of town so it'll be just me and the girls). That's it from us, but the grandparents get them something little. My parents sent the girls outfits for their American Girl dolls -- which kind of makes me feel like my DH and I don't need to do anything more, the girls get enough candy from friends and gifts from the grandparents already!!
