I am in so much pain! I can hardly walk! I am 38 wks 2 days with baby #2. I had had my daughter by this point so each day is new to me. I am wondering if this pain is normal? During my exam yesterday, I have never had so much pain! I lost my plug 3 weeks ago and worry I might have picked up an infection or something?? Baby is sitting really low and has been for over a month, but my lady area has never hurt this much before. I am also a bit swollen down there, too. So, help! Is this normal? Should I call my midwife?

It doesn't hurt when sitting, just getting up and walking around. I understand waddling, but Jeez! This seems extreme...

I got swollen down there when I was pregnant with dd. And I had all the crazy pain too! But I would still call! Went to the hospital with dd when I had that really bad pain. It was nothing but that's not to say it's the same with you

IMO, it should't hurt like that. With Preston the last two weeks I was actually in less pain... I was walking a lot and felt great! I would call.. better to be safe than sorry.

Although I never experienced it with any of my pregnancies a lot of ladies I know have described similar "sensations" near then end of theirs (and I also remember reading about it in pregnancy books) so, although nothing is really "normal" when it comes to pregnancies what you are describing is not out of the ordinary. It still wouldn't hurt to call in- better safe than sorry! =D

I had a ton of pressure pain down there at the end of my most recent pregnancy. My Dr said it was just the baby, and it is totally normal. The last couple weeks are the worst, IMO. Good luck, I hope the baby comes soon.

I had that both before and after labor. If baby is sitting that low then its probably pressure from him pushing down. My guess is when start active labor you are going to go very fast and the baby will be out after a few pushes at least you can hope!

Well Solveig only took 6 hours from when my water was broken and like 2 or 3 pushes, so I'm hoping he goes fast too!
