I get the chili packet, get one cane kidney, one pinto beans. Hamburger (I recently gave this up but in the past this is what I used), onion, one can of tomato sauce and to cans of paste. I like a thick chili. Brown the hamburger and onion, add the beans, packet and some lowrys to taste. About an hour in, I add a half or so cup of pase salsa. I usually let mine sit in the Crockpot for 4 hours on low.

Hmm, I'm just a "throw it in" type girl but I'll try!
1 lb of meat- hamburger, ground venison or ground turkey were my staples 1 can or chili beans 1 can of red beans (dark or light red, doesn't matter) 1 LARGE (1 lb) can of crushed tomatos Chili powder- I have no idea, I just add till it tastes good! 3 TBS maybe? Brown or white sugar, half a cup maybe? Minced garlic, one onion and one green pepper finely chopped and sauteed with the browning meat Seasonings such as onion powder, garlic powder, pepper- again, just add a little at a time, you can always put more in if you want it! I'll throw it in the crockpot on low all day long- maybe start it at 9 and eat around 5 or 6?

Here's mine, I'll have to turn down the amounts (My normal recipe makes 4 gallons)
2# burger (As you brown, season w/ 4 shakes soy sauce, montreal steak seasoning, oregano, fresh garlic bits, cumin, chili powder and crushed red pepper) 1 large can and 2 15 oz cans of chili beans (do not drain) 1 large can and 2 15 oz cans of dark red kidney beans (drain) 1 large can and 2 15 oz cans of tomato sauce 1 large can and 2 15 oz cans of diced tomatoes (flavored ones add extra flavor) 8 oz green chiles 1 bottle of Killian's Red Beer 1 cup onions, diced (I don't measure my seasonings, sorry) Chili powder Cumin Montreal Steak Garlic Oregano, Crushed red Pepper
For extra heat you can add some hot chili oil.
(yes, this is the small recipe) Let me know if you need the big one!

My Mom's Chili Recipe 6 pounds hamburger, browned and drained 1 T chili powder 1 1/2 t cumin 1 T black pepper 2 t paprika 1 t garlic powder 1 T brown sugar 1T garlic salt 3 medium onions, chopped 4~15 oz. Dark Red Kidney Beans 2~15 oz. Tomato Sauce 2~15 oz Petite Diced Tomatoes Mix all together and cook for 1 hour. This makes a lot so we usually just do 1/2 the recipe for our family of 4. There is still plenty leftover which tastes even better the next day! It's also good to do the full recipe and freeze 1/2 for another meal later! For the crockpot I would cook on low all day.
