So I am at 33 weeks pg today. Yesterday I had a routine check up for baby and I mentioned having some cervical pressure and what I thought were contractions (had to be induced with DS so wasn't positive). Well she checked it out, and turns out I am 1cm dialated, with some thinning already. She also did a fetal fibronectin test that came back positive. (Google definition: Fetal fibronectin is a protein that acts as a "glue" during pregnancy, attaching the amniotic sac — the fluid-filled membrane that cushions your baby in the uterus — to the lining of the uterus. Fetal fibronectin is often present in cervical secretions during early pregnancy. Fetal fibronectin also shows up later in pregnancy, about one to three weeks before labor begins. If your health care provider is concerned about preterm labor, he or she may test a swab from your cervical canal for the presence of fetal fibronectin. A positive fetal fibronectin test is a clue that the "glue" has been disturbed and you're at increased risk of preterm labor.) So with that, she put me on modified bedrest until the end, and also scheduled an ultraound for today where they will test the cervical length and see just how likely/close to delivery I am, and depending on those results, I could be switched to strict bedrest. Has anyone else experienced this?! I don't know how I'm going to be able to handle DS while on modified bedrest, let alone strict. She said no stairs, driving, grocery shopping, excessive standing or walking, heavy lifting, household chores, etc. for modified. Its just me and DS at home, those are all things I HAVE to do And, on top of everything, I haven't been able to get a hold of DH to let him know whats happening.

Prayers that the US looks good today and you don't have to have strict bedrest! Luckily you have family very close by that I'm sure will be happy to help out! Good luck!

If nobody can help you I would think they would send him home. I had a friend with the exact same issue only she did go into labor at 32 weeks and her hubby came home from deployment to take care of their toddler. I hope it's not serious for you and that the ultrasound looks good! Thinking of you!

I sort of went through this-- early contractions and I had some shortening of the cervix too. I was on modified bedrest and was told that I could not do laundry or vacuum, but could make food to eat, and shower-- we are in 3 level townhome so HAD to do stairs just limit and I could drive to appts. I went into labor 2 days before my due date (My bedrest started at 33.5 weeks) They also had me on a medication until week 37 as well-- can't remember it right now.

Finally got a hold of DH! Ultrasound is done, won't have results until Monday... DH said its not likely that he would be able to come home early, unless there was serious complications during birth or shortly after. Both of our parents live very close by though, fortunately. She said baby was head down, and still a girl
