This has been a rough weekend for health news in DH's and my extended families. I could use some prayers for two of my uncles (one on my dad's side and one on my mom's side) and DH's grandma.
My Uncle Tim was just diagnosed with thyroid cancer and is having surgery to remove it on Feb 27th. Prognosis is good prior to surgery, but a few extra prayers never hurt!
My Uncle Steve has had a very rare form of lymphoma since summer 2007. It had gone into remission and just came back this weekend. He is very weak and there is little they can do for treatment since he is not a candidate for bone marrow transplant. They are hoping to get him a bit healthier and harvest his stem cells to put in his bone marrow.....it has been a long road for him and we thought he was clear of the cancer so this is disappointing news. Since his initial diagnosis in 2007 my aunt (his wife) was diagnosed and passed away from cancer so it hits even harder.
My DH's grandma is in the hospital with internal bleeding and they don't know where she is bleeding but her blood count keeps going down. DH is having a rough night since we got this news.

ugh...just got off the phone with my mom. Things are not good with my Uncle Steve, he had a stroke this weekend but he doesn't remember having it so he yells at my cousins and gets mad at them when they try to remind him his cancer is back and that he needs help with things.
My dad is planning to fly out next weekend (from WI to NJ). My Uncle Steve is my dad's sister's husband and my dad's best friend. My cousins have no family close to be a physical support which is why my dad is planning to go out there (my aunt (their mom) passed away 2 years ago and our aunt lives 5 hrs away and has lots of anxiety issues so isn't able to be supportive). My cousins, my dad and Uncle Steve could really use some prayers.
