Update Monday March 5th:
Woo-hoo! I'm so excited! I'd do a happy dance but I'm supposed to be taking it easy - I'm dancing on the inside.
I get to go back to work tomorrow, half days this week. If all goes well I can go back full time next week!
Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts. And thanks to all those who have chatted with me over the last 2 1/2 weeks as I've been home bored and miserable! You are all the best.
------------------------
I could use some prayers and/or good thoughts - whatever your belief/religion lends itself to.
Thursday night I want to bed feeling fine, not so much as a cold. Tina's been fighting a virus that has left her coughing for weeks but she's had a normal temp and mostly carrying on fine, just hacking everywhere she goes. The doctor keeps having her come back in for rechecks and she has prescription cough medicine.
Anyway, I woke up a bit before 4 with a sharp pain shooting through my left shoulder blade forward. It was excruciating. And was worse each time I inhaled. I got up out of bed and walked a bit, trying different positions and seeing if I could find any relief. But I couldn't. A few minutes after 4 I woke Tina up and we headed to the hospital. Luckily my MIL was in town, and so we could just leave and she stayed with sleeping Ian.
At the ER they did all sorts of cardiac tests and all looked fine. Chest xray looked clear but MRI showed pneumonia in my left lung along the bottom, which corresponded with the pain. How I went from not being sick to having sudden excruciating pneumonia is a mystery. But they said their best theory was that I caught the same thing Tina has but it went right into my lung.
They admitted me for the day to keep me on a heart monitor and recheck my blood later in the day for whatever shows up hours after a heart attack just to be sure, but all was good. They gave me various meds and my pain became controlled.
They released me in the afternoon and we came home and I rested. Then yesterday I started to worsen. The pain in my joints got more severe and the sharp pain my lung was stronger when the IB was waning. We dropped my MIL at the airport in the early afternoon and came home to rest. I felt horribly feverish by then and sure enough my temp was 102 even on all that IB.
Same thing today. I hurt all over and was freezing and miserable. I just couldn't stop crying from the pain.
I took more percocet and got relief and slept a bit. We went back into the doctor and now I'm on an antibiotic because this seems more bacterial than viral with the fever.
I'm just going to give in and take the percocet when I need to so I don't feel so much pain and sleep and rest tomorrow.

Oh my gosh, Sharon, so so sorry to hear this! My DD (who is 3) went from a little runny nose to a viral pneumonia within one hour ( a few weeks ago)-- it was so so sudden that it was very hard to believe it could happen this quickly. Just like you are describing, the pain she experienced was something else (I thought I was losing my child) and her breathing was so labored that it took 4 days in the hospital to get it under control. We still do not know the virus that caused it -- all virus they tested her for came back negative. I hope you start to feel better soon but maybe a return to the doc would be a good idea if the pain is so bad and you do not start to improve, especially if breathing is severely affected.

Thanks everyone. I had a comfortable night. The fever is still high but I'm not in pain at the moment.
Thanks Eliza - a return to the doc is definitely in the cards. She didn't let me leave yesterday without scheduling a recheck.
