So we have been potty training DD2 for the past few weeks. I'm pretty sure she has it down but she only goes 1-2 times a day and then at night it ALL comes out so she HAS to be holding a lot in during the day! I'm really unsure on how to get her not to hold it in. Besides maybe giving her more to drink during the day and stopping liquids past a certain time at night does anyone have any suggestions?! Could her body be out of whack on when to go to the bathroom? Thanks!

Have you tried taking her to the potty and she doesn't go? Or does she only go a couple of times a day because that is when she stops to try?

I do take her to the potty and she won't go but she does come and tells me when she can't hold it anymore and needs to go but that only happens a couple of times a day. I'm assuming she is holding a lot of it in because at night she soaks through her diaper..ick.

If she gets rewards for going, would she go more often? Just an idea ... hmm ... or making a huge deal about it when she goes, song and dance, something that would make her WANT to go more often and "let it out"?
Or do a sticker chart and if she goes, say, 4 times a day then she'll get an extra bedtime story?
Just some ideas. Hang in there!! Hope you can figure out something that makes her want to go!

My 3 child would hold it all day too and then one day she started going more. I think they just like to control something, so thats what they do.
