I need meal (lunchtime) ideas for DS's 4th Birthday Party. Most of the guests will be adults, it will be DS and my niece for little kids and a few elementary school-middle school aged kids. There will be about 20 people.
For his previous birthday parties we have done lasagna, turkey & beef bbq, and giant subs from SuperTarget. I would like something different but it needs to be easy too (DS wants me to make a train cake, so I don't have time for a ton of food prep).
Thanks!

For DS I just made a ham a day before (or buy one already cooked) and buns and chesses and let people make sandwiches and have potato salad, chips, veggies.
Slo[[y joes in the crock pot work pretty easy too-- Or if someone likes to grill (DH maybe) do that-- hot dogs, hamb, etc picnic theme?

Taco in a bag. Use the snack size Doritos, then they put in all the fixin's they want. Shredded turkey or beef sandwiches. Precook and then use the crockpot to keep the meats warm. Chips and dips. Veggies and dip.

I love the walking taco idea (or taco bag as lil said) Super easy and everyone usually enjoys them! Maybe some fruit kabobs as sides?

Pasta bar -- make a couple of different types (angel hair, penne) and have a few different sauces for options (marinara, alfredo, veggie style). Serve with bread and salad.

Thanks for the ideas. I don't eat red meat so I never think about things like walking tacos/taco bar, sloppy joes, etc. I was really drawing a blank before and appreciate some brainstorming and ideas from you ladies!

It can be done with ground turkey or chicken too.

We hardly eat red meat...we love to use turkey or ground chicken for tacos. If your going to do tacos and use turkey use 93/7...it's not as dry as the lean turkey.

I second walking tacos or sloppy joes. I love having things in a crock-pot for parties!! If looking for train ideas for a cake look at the howdini.com and type in train cake. I go to this website for cake and other ideas!!
