My son Ian has asked me to please get this letter to "everyone in Minnesota." I was honest that I'm not sure I can do that, but said I would do what I could to get it to as many people as possible. So, I hope you will take the time to read it, and to share as you see fit. Thank you. -------------------------------------- Dear People of Minnesota, Please vote no on the marriage amendment because in the United States of America’s Constitution it says to be fair to everyone. That amendment is not following the rules of the United States of America’s Constitution. In the Constitution it says freedom for everyone and the amendment is not even making it fair. It’s just taking away rights. Marriage is about love – that’s what I think. The amendment is about just taking away rights from the people who are affected from it. So I don’t think the amendment is fair, because it’s just taking away rights - which you can’t do in the United States of America’s Constitution. If you are Jewish, in the Torah is says similar things to being fair to everyone. It says Kavod HaBriyot, “all human beings are created in the image of G-d” and Lo Ta-amod aldam rei-echa, “do not stand idly by while your neighbor bleeds.” If you have anyone LGBT in your neighborhood please vote no. If you vote yes, you’d be hurting my feelings and I would cry and the LGBT community. Because you are being mean to me and my family and other LGBT families. That’s why if I were going to vote, I would vote no. In the Civil War, we fought for everyone to have the same rights. But now, if it passes, we are taking away rights and using the Constitution to divide the same-sex people from non-same-sex people, which is bad. When I grow up I want it to be nice with no wars and everything is fair. And I mean EVERYTHING. Ian Rosenberg-Scholl St. Paul Age 7 Attachments:
