I got a call this morning from my MIL saying that they weren't going to go to church this morning, but she would still like for me to come over. She then told me over the phone that her and my FIL were seperating and that she was moving all of her stuff out to an apartment today. I called 'April Fools' on her, and totally didn't believe her at first, but then I heard voices in the background of the people she said were there helping her move...
I feel like an idiot for not being so sensitive at first, I really didn't see this coming at all. My FIL has been working out of town for the last month and is going to come home to a practically empty house next week.
My SIL explained to me that now that my MIL is cancer free, and cleared her 18mo check up with flying colors that she feels that she has been given a second chance at life, and wants to do it the right way this time. I understand but I am also so heartbroken for them, they were married over 30 years.
I am asking that you please pray for guidance and peace for my MIL, FIL, and their children, thanks ladies!

So sorry! I will definitely say prayers. I feel badly for your DH with being deployed and not being here as this major change occurs. Guidance and peace is what everyone needs. Hang in there (especially with your baby due soon!)
Divorce in a family definitely affects more than just the people being divorced. My brother and SIL divorced 3 years ago and it was hard on all of us. I wish you and your inlaws the best as you all navigate this relationship change.

Wow that sounds rough. I'm sure cancer and other life threatening diseases can make you take a second look at your life and give truth to things that you might not want to have seen before. I wish her luck on her new path and hope she finds the happiness she is looking for.
