My MIL was this way, she came last weekend and didn't bring any gifts...I'm still in shock. I'm thinking it could be one of a few things:
1) She finally got another grandchild
2) She feels bad because when my DD had her last b-day party I asked all the kids to bring items to donate to the animal shelter, she asked why I would do that and I said DD has to many toys and needs to learn there is more to life than presents, but between both grandmas she'll have a lot of toys for her b-day
3) She started buying a lot of duplicate items, so I would just give them right back for her to return
4) My DD (4yr old) started telling her she didn't like the stuff
Either way, I'm hoping maybe she finally got the picture, fingers crossed
