So anyone tried this method? DH and I are going to use it to hopefully get pregnant with a girl this July or August. I am feeling extremely outnumbered with my two boys and a DH. I have always had an intense desire to have a girl and I will do just about anything to get one ;-).

I've never heard of this. Does this mean you are back on the baby train?

Yup I am back on the baby train and not moving so yay. Shettles is where you plan to have sex 3-4 days before ovulation and not a moment after. It bases it's theory off of the male sperm being quick but dying off faster and the female sperm being slow and stronger. To get a boy you would have sex as close to ovulation as possible. Tons of science people say no way to it working but I think they lie because everyone I know who tries it...succeeds.

I always heard that the boy sperm last longer then girl sperm.

Hmmm...Sounds like something to at least try. If anything, it's a 50/50 chance, right? LOL

I think it's the girl sperm that lasts longer than the boy sperm. I read about it and I'm not convinced it would work because the way it was explained I should of had a better chance of having a boy the second time around.

Mine were both on ovulation and they are boys. I didn't know my exact ovulation date but we had sex everyday for basically 2 weeks so that should cover it. Haha. With shettles you need to know exactly when you will ovulate....which you can only know by testing and scheduling and all sorts of fun things. Not sure if I have the patience for that!

Well I tried for a boy for #3 and ended up with a girl. We had sex every other day for 2 weeks and ended up with 3 girls. We tried some of the things that said you were supposed to have a better chance for a boy but I believe nothing we did mattered. God gives you what you are supposed to have, IMO!

Well scientifically speaking I was trying to see if it worked for anyone. Guess nobody has tried, that's okay!
