Hi, I'm looking for a pediatrician recommendation for the east metro...DH and I are looking for a family clinic/private practice type place for the family to go. I've noticed that there are very few of these clinics left, especially ones that take blue cross. At any rate, we're going to need a ped in the very near future. Would prefer maplewood/woodbury, but we are willing to drive to saint paul if its worth it.

It's worth it! We go to Children's Clinic St. Paul and see Dr. Kristin Peterson. My son has Blue Cross. He has seen Dr. Peterson since birth and we LOVE her. She takes a lot of time with us and answers all our questions. She checks research when she doesn't know the answer and gets back to us. She's great with our son and very supportive. We have also seen other docs there when our son has been sick and she has not been in, and we were never unhappy with any of them.

We are also looking for an independent family doc or pediatrician (not affiliated with bigger networks) -- I hope that there are some left. Maybe to look into smaller towns nearby?

My kids both saw a nurse practitioner that was great, but she left to be at a clinic closer to her home. We saw her Woodbury, I think she moved to St. John's maybe-- St. Paul I think. Her name is Sarah Meysenberg (CNP) Check a few places to see if she is listed as staff.

Aspen Bandana Square, Dr. Gorin. We love her!! Shes straight and to the point, but very compassionate too... she often gives great advice. note. She is pro vaccine, actually the whole office is I'm pretty sure, not sure if that matters to you.

We go to Health East Vadnais Heights clinic and see Dr. Wegner. She is great with DS and she takes a lot of time to make sure all your questions are answered.

We go to Health East in Oakdale. Dr.Lockhart is AMAZING!! DD absolutely LOVES her!! She's been my Dr since I was about 16 and has been DD's since she was born. She was even the Dr who delivered DD. I HIGHLY recommend her!!

I'm pretty sure they take Blue Cross too because that's the insurance my mom had me under when I was going there and was still under her insurance. But you can always call and double check.
