So the neighborhood we are moving into doesn't have a community pool and we are pool junkies. So if your neighborhood doesn't have a pool where do you go for some pool time in the summer? ?

Check surrounding suburbs for community pools. My suburb has a city rec center with pool. There may also be lakes with beaches close by.

Edina has a nice pool with a tot section! There is a chlorinated beach at Elm Creek Park in Maple Grove/Osseo that we haven't tried yet but want too! North Mississippi park in Brooklyn Center has a zero depth pool type thing(free) and if your kiddos enjoy splash pads there is a super fun one in St Louis Park.

Apple Valley has a swimming water park too. You'll also be close to the MN Zoo! A membership there will pay for itself over and over.

Richfield has a nice pool, Maple Grove has an indoor/outdoor pool set-up at their community center. (I know it is kind of far, but it could make a nice day trip. Maple Grove has great shopping and restaurants.) There is Bunker Hills in the Northern Suburbs. Minneapolis has lots of free wading pools. Crystal has a pool complex. In Taylor's Fall's Wisconsin there is Wild Moutain Water Park. You can make a day of it and take in Fawn-Doe-Rosa (a wildlife refuge park). There is also French Park in Plymouth. (Sorry, most of my pool, knowlegde is on the northside.)
Cascade Bay is great in Egan. (Lockers are very pricey, though!) The Edina pool is cool, too. There is a play area in addition to the pools.

Pretty much every suburb has a community center than is a couple $$/time to go. There are also TONS of beaches. We have a community center here in Chaska, there is lake Ann park in chanhassen that is nice. We also have a small beach in our development, but I am not sure how nice it is to swim in. The Maple Grove pool is nice, as well.

Ewwww, I have never liked public pools, they make me want to puke. We have one at our apartment but only go once a week or so in the summer on the really hot days. Makes me nervous everytime though...
