DS and I have been at the pool or beach everyday this week and salami sandwiches are getting to me lol! I just wanted to see what others pack in their lunches for a picnic or on the go. Give me some ideas ladies!! TIA

The girls enjoy lunchables from time to time, especially the pizza ones. I like to bring cut up strawberries, a pasta salad, maybe make a frozen pizza before going? Homemade chicken nuggets, wraps, cheese cubes w/ pretzels and some sort of lunch meat...

I tend to not bring lunch/meal type stuff.. I bring things like cheese, crackers, pepperoni or salami, black and or green olives, pickles, dippable veggies and ranch, strawberries or rasberries, pb crackers and we've even done the pasta salad thing too... stays cold with a cool pack.

Chips and salsa Fruit- for a special treat I will buy those squeezable applesauce wraps are fun because you can have cream cheese with veggies or meat, peanut butter with nutella, or just cheese different crackers with cheese

Oh, also on the Ewehorn rice cereal box (like rice krispies but organic and whole grain) they have a recipe for these crispy peanut butter balls that are so yummy, quite healthy and travel really well.

The uncrustables peanut butter and jelly are great cause you can take them directly out of the freezer and let them unthaw while getting to your destination.

For field trips I'd bring peanut butter sandwiches (no jelly for me- yuck!) some fruit and perhaps some nuts.
String cheese or cheese chunks are good. Beef jerky? My favorite fruits are grapes, strawberries or apples for going, if you cut up the apple, you have less garbage to take care of. Spreadable cheese with crackers are a good treat. Instead of sandwiching, you could turn them into wraps with thin wrap bread or do a pita sandwich. I love salads, especially with cut up tomatoes and cucumbers in either balsamic vinagrette or raspberry vinagrette, you could also add cut up fresh mozzerella to that.
I rarely ever eat sandwiches.
