I have so many recipes stuffed just about everywhere... copy and pasted onto notepad on my desktop, ripped out of magazines and stuck in between old cookbooks... mixed in w/ coupons...
I was thinking of writing them out neatly onto lined paper and putting them in plastic sheet protectors and then organizing them in a 3 ring binder...
I write too big for notecards unfortunately
I'd love to hear how you organize and store yours! I'd love to be able to get rid of old cookbooks and makeshift recipe storage things lol
Thanks!

The thing is, is I know exactly what they look like and exactly where they are when they are in the state they are in now. I'm afraid if I re-write them I'll forget all about them!

I use a three ring binder with page protectors. That way I can slip them into the page protectors as is, and not re-write anything. I have tabs to organize by category (soup, entree, holiday specific, etc).

I'm just starting the 3 ring binder system. I have a bunch I've printed out online for new recipes. I'm going to take my old recipe cards and photocopy them onto paper and then but them in the binder.

We got a great gift for Christmas last year...it was the old family cook book. with all the "greats", or so my hubby says. BUT - how she did it was bought a picture album that is 3 ring binder size. so there are slots for "photos" where she put all the family recipes in, or i can put my own in, but it's also big enough to slide in regular 8.5 x 11 sheets with protectors in there. not sure where they got the album, but i'm sure you could find one somewhere.

I use a three-ring binder with the clear protectors. I have it sorted by category. The nice thing is that I'll put a recipe in it, and then if I haven't tried it after so long, or if I do try it and it's an "eh" I can take it out and toss it.

Now if I just got motivated enough to go through the box of cooking magazines and clippings that are not yet in the binder...

Sharon, I have tons of magazines I'd love to recycle, but I haven't had the time nor motivation either to go through them and look for the recipes I want first!
I think I'll try the binder method with the clear protectors...
I'll get it done someday... just like that fleece blanket I was going to make preston for Christmas.. the fabric is still in the bag.. uffda.

Currently I keep my recipes in a folder. I know someone who scans them into her computer. I like the paper copy so I can mark when I put that ingredient into whatever I am making. I do like the idea for the 3-ring binder.

I got all my mother's recipes in a big 3 ring binder with the plastic protectors. She had some kind of recipe computer program so they all look the same and print out nicely.
I am currently working on getting them all put into a cookbook that I have a free coupon for so I have my own cookbook for my recipes through createmycookbook.com
