Cheese curds are! I grew up in Georgia and have never heard of cheese curds. Saw them today when I bought a burger at Culver's. Are they good?

Sarah the fair is on our list. We already have tickets. I have never been to a fair so we are looking forward to it. My parents will be in town and despite them living stateside for 37 years this will be their first ever fair too.
Thanks. Now I won't be scared to try them.

Culver are fine, but the fair is the best. My favorite burger place (blue door pub) has some of the best cheese curds too. It's in St Paul!! My girls love them too!! When picking a place to eat they will ask if they can go and get cheese curds

Ohhhhh cheese curds. They are my FAVORITE fair food. Deep fried cheese ... how can you not love 'em? Go to the fair hungry 'cause there are so many things to eat it's unbelievable. I also love Sweet Martha's chocolate chip cookies. And deep-fried pickles.

The cheese curds at culver's are breaded and deep fried, while the ones at state fair are batter deep fried. I like them both, but also really like fresh cheese curds which squeek in your teeth when you eat them. you can get them at the grocery store or along the highway in western WI (probably in outstate MN too) at local family owned places. mmmm.....cheese curds.

Hi camilla, Below is a link to the MN State Fair for cheese curds. Now, the hard part is deciding which cheese curds to eat, which vendor to buy from!!!!!!! (I don't have any opinion on any of them, as I haven't been to the fair in many years. Too hard for me with all my health issues.) I do agree with coral: Oh and since your going to the fair.... all you can drink milk stand! save your cup for later in the day I used to LOVE this stand!!!!!www.mnstatefair.org/find/food/?keywords="Cheese Curds"2012 All Foods List
Here's a list of all the food at the 2012 Minnesota State Fair. www.mnstatefair.org/find/food/food_list.htmlThere are all kinds of discount days/bargain days/discount tickets/deals/BLUE RIBBON BARGAIN BOOK/etc. You can buy these ahead of time, actually, they are selling them NOW!!!! There are all kinds of buses that you can take to the state fair, park & ride places for your car, and then take state fair bus to entrance of state fair, save walking for long, long way. I don't remember how old your dd's are, but you may want to consider bringing a stroller or wagon for when they get tired, &/or for all the free items/stuff you buy, etc. (You can rent them @ the fair, too). So, check out the link, as there is way too much information to share here. I can't wait to hear of your family experiences there. Some people even go to the fair several days/many days just to take it all in. Some with the kids first, then other times, just as a couple. www.mnstatefair.org/general_info/about_us.htmlwww.mnstatefair.org/tickets_discounts/admission.html

Risking the wrath of my fellow Minnesotans - IMO you're not missing anything. I tried them once at the fair and thought they were gross.
But don't miss the Fair! There are a LOT of things there that are much better than Cheese Curds.
