www.dragonfestival.org/The 2012 Dragon Festival is this weekend at Lake Phalen. It's free, with easy parking and free shuttles, and so much to do and see!

It truly is just such a great festival! The Dragon Dance and the whole opening ceremony is beautiful and fascinating. Then all day long there are performances in two locations - one is dance and the other martial arts. Free canoe rides and of course watching the actual Dragon Boat races! And delicious food to buy and interesting things to see at all the booths. We only found it a few years ago and I couldn't believe we hadn't discovered it sooner!

Did anyone go yesterday? We had a great time although didn't stay as long as we often have because of the heat.

We spent several hours at the festival. I found it so relaxing to watch the dragon boats go by. It is a very nice festival. My DD (age 3) and DS (18 months) LOVED the school bus ride to the festival .

Sarah - I'll ask Tina where we usually park. I wish they had more of that kind of info on the website - great event, bad web site.
Lil - Yes, it is always the second weekend in July as far as I remember. Which is always Aquatennial too! Hard to fit it all in.

Tina says we can't use the lot we usually use because of construction. I think we are just going to head toward Phalen and follow signs, unless they update their info on the website.
