I am trying to plan a fun day/overnight outing for me & my family. Right now my ideas are to go to: Minnehaha falls (look at it, hike by it), DQ for ice cream, picnic lunch, Stone arch bridge, mini golf, stay at a motel. Let me just say I/we have a $500 budget. This outing can be 1-2 or 3 days.
I like to go to a motel w/ a pool.
Does anyone have any ideas for me on what we cold do for an outing? Note: this outing would happen in August.
Thanks so much.

I thought this was the same post you posted before....
I think you should just start doing some research... google some things, look up some prices and availabilities.... try bunker beach area or a hotel/motel with a waterpark or lake nearby.. just gotta look.

Sarah Isis I know this is similar to the other post I posted, but I just not sure what I want to do w/ the family. We know we want to do something together. 3 out of 4 of us like to camp, fish.
Elliza thanks I will defintely check out that website that just might help me out. Thanks.

Since you are having a hard time making a decision I would suggest the following as a fun way to include everyone:
1) You & DH pick the weekend you are planning this activity for (or if DH is taking off of work the days) 2) You research 3-4 options in your price range and write them down (run them by DH for the okay for step 3 before presenting to the kids) 3) You have a family meeting and discuss all the options (again narrow down to 3) and then everyone gets to vote on the one they want to do (or you could put them in a hat and pull out the winner) or have the kids make the decision together (like I said make sure it is mom and dad approved). If you do the voting then whichever kid doesn't get theirs chosen let them pick the restaurant you go to one night or one of the activities so they get a say too.
If your kids like waterparks I have very fond memories of Noah's Ark in WI dells from my childhood, you could get a hotel room for a night and it would be a great time.

Ok here is a somewhat update: Dh is going to take a day off the 3 of them are going to bike to the cty fair my parents will come to (tradiotion for all of us to go togethe), my parents take the kids home w/ them me and dh stay at a motel Fri-Sun morning. We will take a staycation type of trip in August. I made a list yesterday of things I think all of us would like to do as a family. Dh marked ones he didn't want or like. So basically we have it somewhat narrowed down.

Ok I am now planning a staycation for the family. It is going to be 3 days and 2 nights. The cities going to are: Bloomington, Mineapolis, Falcon Heights. Our budget for this staycation is: $500.00. I am the one planing the whole thing. Dh is helping me very little that is why I am asking for some ideas from you wonderful ladies. I am asking for some ideas of some indoor activities that don't cost an arm & a leg. lol

Ok here is what we did on our family staycation if you are interested: Centennial lakes park, stone arch bridge, st. anthony falls, lock & damn, picnic at Nokomis, motel, legoland, breakfast w/ a family friend, saints game, the works and one park 2X. It was a very nice staycation. We had fun. Lots of memories. This was the kdis' first time staying at a motel.
